I want a new guitar but only have about $400 dollars or so. What is a good guitar I could buy with that money (its ok if its more than $400 by a little!)

Theres a schecter with emgs, floyd rose system, and some neat bat inlays. Its about 499 I think, which is a bit over your price but you shouldnt have to save too much.Just wait till musicians friend has another"we ship this for free deal", they seem to almost always have one of those. But that guitar is suited to metal, so its a personal preference. It would be helpful to know what you want to play, I could pinpoint a better guitar.

$400?? You could get a baddass guitar for that. Look on ebay. There are some guitars autographed for that much even.

Dean guitars are great, I always recommend them to my students. But whatever you buy, make sure your comfortable with it. Things to look for are... a good width to it (make sure it's not too wide for you) and good action in the strings (you don't want one with strings that are set too high above the neck.) I also highly recommend Yamaha, Luna and Fender. It also depends what kind of guitar your looking for, acoustic or electric.

Big Baby Taylors are great guitars. Taylor makes some of the best guitars so you can't go wrong. They also have some of the best customer service around too.

They run about $399.00 at musiciansfriend.com

Depends on electric or accoustic, but I would highly suggest an Ibanez either way. They have a good sound for that price range, and are generally well built. Musician's friend is a good place to look.

If you would play a used one, American Standard Fender Telecasters are good. You might find one for about that much money.
