overly sensetive!? I 've been working for a Chiropractor for three years now. The doctor started me working from the house when I had my baby seven months ago. From home I still work on the office's insurance claims, etc. Well, the doctor updated his web page and had a section, "Let me introduce you to my staff." and I'M NOT listed!!! I am EXTREMELY hurt and now feel like I don't mean anything to the office. I work my butt off, just from home? Am I being a dork or would you feel as hurt as me too. I've always worked so hard and now I feel like I'm not being acknowledged and feel sort of left out.
Please, no rude answers, I'm really depressed about this.

Perhaps I should add that I do go into the office every Thursday, so I do still talk to the patients and still see some of them. I wish this wasn't bothering me so much, but it is!

It does seem as though you should be listed as staff, as you are an important part of the staff. Maybe the reasoning was that you aren't actually at the office location and they only put the people that patients could actually see face to face? Either way, I would at least bring it to the attention of the doctor. Could be maybe he just slipped up. PS How did you go about getting a job from home, I would love to do that! I thought all the work from home stuff were scams!

Why don't you ask him?
It maybe an over site from the people that built the site for him.
Or it could be that he wanted to introduce his front line staff to the customers.
You are not there so people don't need to see who you are. Maybe?
I'm not sure but I would not let it bother you too much as you have been very lucky to be there with your child and build your work around your kiddy.
I work online and have done just that. Built my business around my family not have to build my family around my work.
Don't let it rent space in your head & Keep smiling as you have a lot more than a lot of other people will ever have.
A day above ground, Regardless of how bad it may seem, is better than 1 day under the ground.
If you spend 5 minutes complaing my dear you will have just wasted 5 minutes.

I'm wondering if he is just introducing the staff that patients will actually see, so they'll have an idea of who is whom. Not that it's right; I would feel hurt about it too. Are you included in other things, like any holiday parties or gatherings?
I don't think you would be out of line to tell him you noticed your name is missing from his web site. Maybe give him the benefit of the doubt that someone else designed it or gave the list and only named the people actually in the office.

Maybe he was introducing his staff that the customers will come in contact with so that they will feel comfortable when they enter the office. Maybe he didn't mean anything by it or just overlooked it since u don't see each other much, however i would feel hurt too and it would be nice to include u as u are a strong backbone to the company. You may want to mention it to him next time you see each other. Use this example, complement the website, mention specific parts u like about it, comment on pictures and that u'd like to be included in them, finish off by complementing the website again and the execution. That way u sound professional and informative and not like ur upset about it. This form is called the S**T sandwich, because it has the good stuff at top and bottom and the harder to swallow stuff in the middle. :)

I would talk to him about it. It may be that he only listed staff who patients might encounter. It may have been an oversight. It might be that the updates were made while you were on maternity leave and he wanted to be sure you'd be back and forgot to add you when you started working again. You didn't say if you're working full-time so maybe that could be a factor. Just talk to him and see where you stand.

I wouldn't trip on it. Have you spoke to the doctor/ that is step one. Also, working from home is awesome. Those who do it, don't usually get "recognition,and respect" that comes with "corporate jobs." Sometimes people don't see you as an "employee." It is pretty cool that he let's you work from home. You can have the satisfaction of knowing you are getting paid--at home. Also, if you don't deal directly with the public, there's really no reason for him to "introduce" you. I'm sure he meant no harm. Good luck!

You should ask the chiropractor about this. I would feel hurt too, but maybe the doctor doesn't update his own website or it slipped his mind. Whoever did it probably just looked around and named everyone they saw. You shouldn't take it personally until you ask someone about it. I'm sure they will gladly add you and feel bad that they forgot!

I understand that feeling but many times out of sight out of mind.. contact them and ask them where you would be located at on the web site because you want to show it to your family

you do a valuable service, just not one the public sees....let him know this bothers you.....the worste he can say is NO....so what....we've all heard that before. then ask him for a raise..........maybe you will get it?
