They are the best of people who are willing to be criticized, lied about, attacked, live with body guards who must promise to take a bullet for you, who will have the families criticized & lied about, their appearnce made fun of , people taking notes everytime they speak hoping to find a misstatement or new fact that was a secret.

i know lots of smarter, more honest & would make a great presidents people but they are not willing to torture their families like that. Until the American people including Congress learn to treat the President with respect, the choices will not get better.

I do not believe the quality of the President changed until after the quality of the American people changed. When I was young we showed respect for every president even those we did not agree with. President Johnson was one of my least favorite but I called him President & never ridiculed his family & they had plenty of flaws. R_E_S_P_E_C_T where did it go.

Nope. Mike Pence needs to be our next president. (not running) He is a true conservative at all ends. These Democrat candidates are crazies, and the Republicans are... well... Republicans, not conservatives. These canidates are the only choices because the people are getting to used to picking the person with "the best chance" at winning against the competitor, and not the best choice. So today the choices all need to be "main-stream" politicians to get elected in primaries.

I agree with wolfpack. I would add that the Democrats have an embarrassment of riches with Chris Dodd, Hillary, Barack, Bill Richardson, John Edwards. I'm afraid the Republican candidates don't measure up--at least, at this point.

By diefinition yes. They are all the country has to offer. Are they the best people in the country? Probably not, but those better people are not offering themselves.
