I'd have to say Rick Allen of Def Leppard. Anyone that commited to relearning how to play the drums after losing an arm has guts and talent, to boot.

I love Mikee Dee (I have the dvd of Motorhead live, it's called Stage Fright)) but have you ever heard jazz drummers like Tony Williams or Billy Cobham? I'd say Tony Williams. He played with Miles Davis when he was 17.Or Ginger Baker of Cream.

Dave Lombardo is pretty good, but so are all thrash rockers. Seriously, even as a seasoned guitarist, I am always awed when I listen to Eddie's brother in crime, Alex Van Halen. Sorry if I offend anyone!

This would be a toss up between Gene Krupa and Sandy Nelson. I loved Gene Krupa's "Battle of the Drums" and Sandy Nelson's "Let There Be Drums" and "Teen Beat"
