I would go to census.gov. They have many statistics on this type of thing. It may take some searching, but when you do find it, you will be able to compare it to other decades, find trends, relate it to income, education, race, etc.

I see the problem of fatherless children to be more a symptom of wealth more than a symptom of race. I'm not sure, but I would guess that more children who live in poverty are fatherless than children of black men. Now, this could be due to the fact there isn't a father to contribute the money to support the family. But I imagine if that father was around they would still be around the poverty line. I would suppose that more financially stable parents even if seperated have a father for that child in their life even if they do not visit them and see them daily.

51 % of households are single moms raising their own children. I don't know the breakdown of how many dads are "there" ,but I would think more are than not. And out of the ones that are "not there", I think it would be about the same % for all races.

I don't know who would have statistics on this ........especially on Yahoo Answers.
So many go un documented.
So many grandparents end up supporting and raising the kids. It isn't fair to any of them.
Just bad decisions and uncontrolled lust by the couples who sometimes barely even know one another.
