I always recommend M.A.C. face makeup, available either in a pressed powder compact or lose powder. It's so natural looking and the coverage is so sheer and lasting. They also have concealers and bronzers. They have a very large selection of different shades, so you're sure to find one just right for you. Now here's something that will suit you -- you can find M.A.C. in most major department stores, and there's always one or two technicians willing to analyze your makeup needs and, I believe, also give you a free makeup (could be wrong about free but I really think I'm 80% right!.

About a year ago I started using a well known brand of mineral makeup. This stuff is really great. Can use it as a concealer, just add more. It's applied with a brush that comes with the makeup. It is a very finely ground powder and has excellent coverage without looking like a mask. Can apply as little or as much as you want or need for your coverage. It lasts all day, never looks cakey or dry. Comes in many colors for eye shadows, blushes and foundation. Also if you want to leave it on all night you can without worry. Washes off easily. I know, I do sound like an advertisement. I don't mean to, but, I do love the stuff. The gals here are right about using a cream to lighten and brighten. They work. Also drink alot of water.

DO NOT purchase a foundation or concealer to brighten your skin...you will look like you're wearing a mask, yuk! Instead brighten/lighten your skin with a brightening treatment applied before your moisturizer as a part of your regular skincare routine.
I LOVE Skin Actives Skin Brightening Cream; it's safe, gentle and VERY effective. And it's a tremendous value at $35 for 4oz. http://skinactives.com/products/brightening.htm
NOTE: Skin brightening treatments take a minimum of three (3) months to work, so use the cream twice a day for three months and you will see a difference.
Side note: your foundation and concealer should match your skin tone EXACTLY. Match the color to your jawline--the right color of makeup should look 'invisible' on your jaw. If you select your foundation and concealer using this method, it will match your face AND even out the uneven, discolored spots.

For best results, go to a makeup or dept store for professional help.. Always use a foundation that matches up to your neck. NO MASKS! you may also want to use a color correcter first. this helps neutralize your skin tone (green cancels out red, purple cancels out yellow. then put your foundation on top of that.. use a Luminizer for a healthy glow on cheeks or all over the face.

It's all in what you want and you can even mix two foundations together to get the right look you want. You can also mix foundation with a little moisturizer to make the foundation less goopy on your face.

i can't tell what colour suits you without looking at your skin....but a very simple tip here for foundation, when you are buying a foundation, apply some to your face without rubbing too hard.....if the difference of colour between your skin and the foundation is not big, then it's the right colour.
