I didn't know Somalia was rich. Thanks. Then there's Columbia, the PI, Israel and Palestine, Rwanda, the list goes on and on of these violent rich countries.

The reality is that some rich individual's lust for money and/or the lack there of, among the poor, result in the same hate and carnage. Some kill to eat. Some kill to buy bigger yachts.

The Sudan is poor as dirt and they slaughter each other daily. Haiti is in poverty and constantly faces strife and coups. The former Yugoslavia falls in the lower half of GDP's of the world, yet had problems with cathlolic/muslim violence and ethnic cleansing in the 90's. The Iran Iraq war in the 80's was fought by two countries who's whole gdp is based in oil sales and are by no means the richest countries in the world. Read a book before you try to make a statement on the evils of American imperialism, or else you end up looking stupid.

Of course its just your opinion, its just ill informed and dumb.

They don't...Poorer countries can be just as, or more violent than rich countries. There's just violence in different countries based on the enconomic stands--meaning what they fight about. Your question is vauge, but if you've been seeing a lot of violence in certain wealthy countries, it's probably just because they have cameras and news castings for viewers. Violent acts happen around the world, but you wont notice them as frequently if they aren't recorded.

Usually the countries that are violent are the poorest. The people in those countries are upset and want change, and usually in a violent way. Hitler and Germany went to war because they didn't have money and blamed others for it, including Jews. The French Revolution erupted because Royalty had all the money and the people were poor. This country went to war with Britain because of taxes.

The lack of money, and sometimes religion, would be the reasons for countries to be violent, so I have to respectfully disagree with you...

What a bizarre question... Look at Zimbabwe, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Darfur... All men are capable of great evil.

Wake up and read a book, or a newspaper. Dummy.

Do you mean like the old Soviet Union and China? That is because their internal power comes from strict control of people's common sense. It was easier for them to off millions of their own people than to admit that they were wrong. China also has a thriving economy selling organs from Falun-Gong members and people who hand out Bibles in public. I would LOVE to show you some of the pictures of executed Chinese.

You are completely not making any sense. BTW,I see you are from Canada (in one of your posts). If it's so rich and violent, perhaps the Sudan would suit you more.

I don't think your assertion is accurate. There are many 3rd world countries where crime rates are far higher than in any industrialized country.

I think that that is your perception. There is alot of violence in africa and in some poorer asian countries at times as well.

Because they can afford the big military and they don't have to worry about just stabilizing their government. Although I would have to say this probably isn't a very true statement at all, unstable governments (that are poor) have to deal with coup de' etat and rebellions. I guess it depends if you mean have more wars against other countries or violence within their own country.
