I'm currently a cashier at a grocery store making around 11 bucks an hour. I work about 20 hours a week mostly on weekends (I'm a college student). This summer I may be getting a paid internship (40 hrs a week) but would like to keep the cashier job so I can work there next school year. I already have pretty much no life, so should I just work every day (internship M-F and cashier Sat and Sun)? I'd make well over 6 grand during the summer (enough for an entire year of school) doing that.

I think it's a great idea if you can physically and mentally handle it. It's good to look ahead as you are, and do what you have to do to in order to have things work out for next year. You'll be really glad to have that $6000 for school when the time comes, and working your butt off now will be worth the peace of mind you'll have about tuition. :)

You could try it, just make sure that you do take a few days off for fun because if you can't have fun at least once in awhile it just is not worth it! If it gets to be too much you could always try to see if the grocery store will let you come back in the fall when you start school again, most places will work it out with you so they do not have to train someone else.

DO IT!!!! Trust me, when that bill for books and tuition come up, you'll be happy you did. Also, you won't have any gaps in your employement history with that company so that will help to earn your senority. Working ALL the time is going to wear you out a bit, but in the long run you'll appreciate it. And, if in three or four weeks you find it to be too much, then you can quit knowing you at least tried, right?
