I use Critter Bath Powder to bathe my hamsters.
You just put a little in a low dish, and they 'dig' into it.
Then they wash themselves as they clean it all off.
It helps keep their fur clean and soft.

Firstly you are really over cleaning that cage of yours. Once, maybe twice a week is fine. Thats probably what is making your hamster a bit grumpy. Also you have only had them a short time so they are still getting used to you and there new surroundings.

But i think you should get the one your concerned about to the vet just to make sure she is ok. Hamsters in general do not smell, she may have an infection or disese so if the 2 of them are housed together you need to seperate them.

Google some hamster sites on how to care for a new hamster, and they all offer great tips and advice on taming and cleaning the cage.

You should not bathe hamsters. They are too susceptible to chills and drafts. They groom themselves. If you have a hamster that has an odor and is looking nasty, more than likely it is ill. They tend to be a bit mean when they are ill as well, which would explain the behaviour.

Get her the powder hamster bath, it helps them clean themselves, because they do not like water very much. go to the pet store and ask for the hamster bath powder. they will most likely have it.

you cant bathe a hamster because if they're tail is wet, they will die or get sick...i think i read it in a book once BUT ANYWAYS...hamsters will clean themselves but if they seem to get really dirty, you can go to the pet shop and see if they have some cleaners for hamsters

put her in a plastic container with a bit less than 1/2 inch of water. she will begin to clean herself as she gets wet. make sure the water is warm and you dry her a bit when you are done. also she will continue to clean herself until she is dry.

i use to breed hamsters..don't ask why i just did...they can swim...but fill the kitchen sink up about half way..use Johnson's and Johnson's baby wash remember DON'T GET THEIR HEAD WET they can die it makes all the body heat leave them but if it happens blow dry it....and when your done just blow dry them on low but not really close to them and that will be fine

i don't think you should bath them. if you keep the cage clean & she still stinks and look nasty, then she is probily sick.
