IThere are none. I used to think it was John Mc Cain, but he is now kowtowing to the so-called Religious Right. Ever since Ronald Reagan there has not been a true conservative party, except maybe the Libertarians. Conservative principles include small government, no deficit spending, staying out of people's personal lives. Just on the deficit spending issue: Reagan-Bush 12 years = one trillion to 6 trillion increase in the National Debt. Clinton 8 years = 6 trillion to 5.6 trillion decrease in the National Debt. Bush 8 years = 5.6 trillion to (fill in the blank) trillion increase in the National Debt. According to these figures, Bill Clinton is a Conservative while Ronald Reagan, Senior Bush and Junior Bush are Liberals. Go figure it!

True conservatives in the Gop are a mis-nomer.
For my money the last true conservatives the republican
party had were Robert Dole and Barry Goldwater.
The worst mistake this country ever made was not putting
Barry Goldwater in the whitehouse. By the way this is coming
from a guy who thinks Bill Clinton was tops.
But I have grown sick with politics as a whole.
It is no longer about serving the populace. It is about
serving this special interest and that special interest.
Then just before you leave office setting up book deals,
and lecture deals.

Although he has not set up a Political Action Committee yet, I believe the right candidate for the Republican Party for Presidency of the United States of America in 2008 is John Ellis "Jeb" Bush because he is the only person who can continue President George W. Bush legacy of Success for Four More Years and another reason why I want Jeb Bush to become President is so that Americans who do not approve of George W. Bush can deal with another Four Years of another President Bush related to the Current President Bush so that they can understand what it is like to live in country where you deal with the same leader or relatives of that leader FOR LIFE.

I like Fred Thompson if he runs. He has the Reagan communication gift and platform that I can get behind without the political black-eye and personal scandal of a Gingrich. I also like Huckabee, but no one is talking about him. Same goes for John Cox, who I hadn't heard of until Silly Girl posted his site. Thanks for that, he has a good platform too, but I really want someone who can beat Hillbillary. I think her political machine will win her the nomination. So the GOP needs someone who can counter that power. Here I am hoping Thompson can and will be that guy.
By the way, thanks Chi Guy for asking the type of question that I came to admire you for. Lately, you had been asking some very divisively opinionated questions. That's okay, but these are more in my wheelhouse.

Well McCain flip flops an awful lot. And hasnt dont anything to help out Arizona who is the focal point of immigration issues right now.
Guiliani did some pretty good things in NY but im not sure his personal issues of health and relationship problems will let him even last as a candidate until the election.
And im not really sure about Romney yet.
None of those 3 really excite me much.

i don't know anymore. Hey Chi guy, when a true conservative comes around, can you tell me? I am sick of every republican being so socially conservative, or the republican being liberal. And then the conservative democrats wet their pants at the thought of doing anything. Gosh, i wish i had a canidate that represented anything i thought

John Cox, I like where he stands on the issues.
Not sure where I'll be when it's time to vote. But so far he's got my vote.
He's in Chicago I'm in California.
