In relationship to problems that people allow to live with them forever...Is it common sense to keep hold of problems that cause nothing but strife and bad times, or should you be able to dismiss ALL that makes you and your life unhappy simply by saying, 'goodbye'? In having no divorce, some people, such as my Filipino wife, bring abuse into the home, & it often deepens when children arrive, as is in our case. Because there is no divorce, in the Family Code, if I were a Filipino, stuck in the Philippines, I would probably be dead by now, due to my wife's abuse. She knows that I cannot get away from her, or atleast that is the way she thought before I had to make a firm decision. Stay & fight all of the time, or, leave her with her misery, and remove the children from the situation as well. When the children observe abuse between the parents, they tend to model the same behavior later in life. The abuse situation only escalates, and is passed down to the children, when it should be love

I think divorce should be allowed everywhere and think that what the catholic church doctrines force on people is horrible, it makes people live in loveless marriages and creates families that become totally disfunctional. It's hard enough to be married when you love your family

being a Filipino woman, i was raised with the concept that marriage is forever and that divorce is not allowed....
but being married for seven years, my husband does not provide financial support (and even emotional support) i would gladly welcome a law about divorce.... or if not, as we often joke in my office, marriage contract should be renewable every five years. (like our drivers license, car registration, etc.)
it's funny, many people seems opposed to the idea of a divorce... and yet many are living in sin. more prominent examples in our country are the movie actors/actress, government officials, but more are hidden from the limelight.
i mean, a lot of people in the country now are either living in together, or they are separated and each one having another family... and yet law makers and church officials are opposed to divorce...
it would help a lot of women (and men) if this law is adopted by our law makers.
if you have money, there's still a law in our country called legal separation (ask a lawyer) and i'm not sure about annulment. you also have to get your wife a psychological profile, for we are kinda strict in regards as to who best to take care of the kids. but if you are the one with the money and you can prove that your wife is not a fit mother, maybe the court would rule in you favor.
my best advice, consult a lawyer.
good luck.

Here's the bottom line...GOD is smarter than we are,and he says NO...ONLY if there is REPEATED unrepented infidelity.ALL divorces are caused by selfishness and there has NEVER in the whole history of the world been a divorce that was Gods will.
