Absolutely. I'm a teacher and I've worked at several different schools n the past few years. There is more violence related to race than any other reason. It's so very sad and something I thought was on the way out. Obviously not.

In my generation, our parents fanned the race fear flames because they were busing in kids from other neighborhoods, who happened to be black. It never bothered me.

Oddly enough, my last name begins with I. By the time I got to high school, my homeroom class was a black majority based on everyone named Jackson, Johnson & Jones.

I would hope that all idealogical differences and everything considered that racism is something that we could all move past. So one can only hope that people will grow up.
