Forget the US government. You as a purchaser of goods, fund Alqueda also the Red Chinese Armies, also the armies of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and many others. We, the US supplied food to the USSR while at cold war with them. We allowed them to use their funds to make arms to destroy us while sending them grain and other food products. Selling it at a cut rate.
How does that make you feel? It is in the nature of a free people to want to think of the best of others.

Try a credible source next time. Current facts are also helpful.
Credibility counts. If you don't follow credible sources and are willing to believe everything you read, then you are likely to fall for every nutwing conspiracy theory imaginable. People like that joined Heavens Gate and think we never went into space either. Old data is not admissible in today's news. The world has changed since the cold war.

Left wing propaganda.
Tom Engelhardt (your source is basically an opinion blog - TOMDISPATCH.COM) based on a Seymore Hirsh story with no sources, unreliable details, cherry picked facts and biased so far to the left that I doubt even Michael Moore would run with the story.
Seymore's claim to fame is a "breaking" story that's now over 35 years old - he has since written article upon article bashing anything conservative or right wing. He seldom uses sources which makes it impossible for his articles to be reviewed by his peers for validity.

the writer says probably and possibly several times in the first 2 paragraphs, so I quit reading.
I am a conspiracy nut, and am convinced of the Illuminati and the Trilateral Commission. I think we should ALL stop paying our taxes.

exactly!!! I dont see why everyone blames Governor Blanco.. she tries her best!! All BUSH does is come to new orleans to show his face and ACT like hes doing something!!! he needs to get our people back on their feet. He needs to help them thats why they pay taxes, pretty much!!! anyway... umm.. thats weird and im not sure if i believe it TOTALLY but its not that hard to believe:D
