I know the obvious reasons, but I think there are other lesser known reasons why people do this and I'm wondering.......all you' thumbsdowners 'come on and fess up!!!

Yeah... that irks me a little , too.
I think that people are actually competing for points on here & they think that if they give everybody else's answer a thumbs down that they'll get 'best answer' or something & get more points.
Which, btw, is really retarded to me.
Other than that they might just be a**holes that just go around rating thumbs down because they're miserable in their own life & have nothing better to do.
Just some ideas... I'm really not sure.
I usually never rate a question thumbs down unless it's definately wrong, offensive, or really just uncalled for ;-).

It seems that everyone on here is a bit angry about us thumbs downers, but has failed to do it themself at some point.
As the occasional thumbsdowner myself, I will say that the majority of the time, I use it is if the advice given is ignorant and either potentially dangerous or unhealthy to the person who posed the question. The only other reason I will use it is if I know the answer to be 100% incorrect (not based on opinions, but on fact). Sometimes though, it's just because someone says something really stupid.

Some times I see questions and every answer has at least on thumb down. I guess some people get there jollies giving thumbs down. I personally only give thumbs down to answers that are intentionally being offensive.

Cause some people are jealous cause they can't come up with anything good. I did give a thumbs down the other day cause someone was kinda rude in answering my question. When I went back later I noticed that apparently others had thought she was rude as well, lol.
