The movie is based on the Battle of Thermopylae. It's a great story, do some research on the battle first then see the movie, it'll make more sense to you. I thought the movie was excellent. There is blood, but it's battle. The special effects are amazing. I highly recommend this movie.

There was a movie entitled "The 300 Spartans", made in 1962, which more accurately depicts Leonidas and the Battle of Thermopylae. If you want to see a good film that sticks closer to the facts, then rent or buy this DVD. If gratuitous violence and graphic beheadings are more your fare, then, by all means, go see "300".

I just seen the movie and it was, without a doubt, good and the story was brilliant and showed how brave the 300 Spartans were when they faced millions of Persians in the battle.

There is blood but it was a lot less gory than Matrix 3, Braveheart , and Saving Private Ryan. The storytellers did not need to rely on the blood and guts to tell this tale.
The theater I was at took a real hard line on who they let in this one, I have seen a lot worse lately.

the special effects were amazing there were no expectations of the movie and no disappointments-overall the movie was a cinematic masterpiece that mad you laugh, cry, and want to be a part of. or all of the above.

300 is epic but you should read up on it before you see it.

Incredibly amazing, great battle tactics and it was just a great movie. You should see it on the IMAX.

if you are into blood and violence you'll like it. Battle scenes were awesome, but on the whole it was another one time see movie
