I think Fred Thompson has had an illustrious career in politics. He's a Reagan Conservative, makes intelligent choices, has charisma, clean cut, well spoken, and aggressively invested time and effort investigating the Clintons when he was a senator. He has serious dirt in a fat dossier on the Clintons.
He could win. I think Newt Gingrich has the most depth of all candidates. Even Condi, if our VP steps down.

He is an interesting candidate to be sure and my personal dark horse candidate to watch.
He has much going for him:
1) Name and face recognition via TV
2) Some pretty solid moderate Conservative values, a Reagan Repub so to speak.
3) He is not in Washington now. Face it, the GOP is in retreat and no one is looking good for them.
4) The GOP needs an outside candidate not associated with the last 6 years, polls are conclusive, Bush ain't popular and neither are many repubs who sided with him.
No other GOP candidate has much to offer or threaten what, as of now, looks to be a Dem WH upcoming.
I think he should be considered seriously and poses a real threat to us on the left...

Oh, ouch! This guy apparently wouldn't have a difficulty with perjury: Self-defined buddy of I. Lewis ("Scooter") Libby, Jr, he has lent moral and economic help to Libby at the same time as on trial for his position in the Plame affair[4], serving on the advisory board of Libby's protection fund that has taken in 3.5 million USD as of February 9, 2007.[5] ~ Wikipedia Your answer for your 2d section is: bill Clinton replaced into in workplace at the same time as he perjured himself about a sexual affair. you say you may vote for a guy who defends perjury. distinction.
