Are you asking about Time Released Diet pills? Or Time Controlled diet pills? If so the way they work is the medication is absorbed by the body slowly. You feel the affects of the medicine, then not so much. Again later you'll feel the affects again. The glory is that you get more leveled dose of the medicine rather than a sudden peak of the medicine then a crash of nothingness.

Diet pills shouldn't be taken without supervision of a doctor. Even the over the counter meds can cause bad reactions like rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, palpitations (feeling your heart beat in your chest and neck), anxiety, jitters and other side affects.

Hope this helps.
