did they wear movie star sunglasses to sockhops cuz i have tot rdss up for one and i dunno if shoudl waer them or not

and where can i get these things other than in thrift shoppes (not online)

most good costume stores have rental outfits if you want to spend the money...it also depended on whether you were a "good girl", ie poodle skirts, ponytail, short sleeved sweater with a round neckline, saddle shoes (the black and white ones) or Keds white sneakers...if you were a "bad girl" it would be tight sweaters, tight capris or fitted skirts at the knee, kitten heels or heels, with loose hair...all with a boyfriend's jacket over top! You can use the sunglasses as a headband, but they wouldn't wear them inside at a dance...

Full skirt with lots of stiff petticoats under it to make it stand out as much as possible. Saddle shoes or black flats, no socks or nylons. Pretty much wore the same things to school. I went to school in the 50s.

If you are going to a dance at school I would suggest a poodle skirt. If you need any more ideas, watch the movie Grease or look at some pictures on the Web.
