I have been using it for 4 years.

The best way to learn it at any stage is to play with it. Classes really won't help you in the way that you can't read a manual about how to paint or create a piece of art.

Go for it, create lots of art and you will learn

Try your local bookstore. They have some fantastic books on photoshop, with easy-to-read instructions and photo examples. Try your half-price bookstore as well! Good luck.

push every button in photoshop and see what it does. That is how I learned.

The best way is to just jump right in! Copy some pics to a special folder and rename them, whack away at them, you cant hurt anything! by copying them, you wont have to worry about wrecking the originals.
