I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I was sick just a few weeks ago, my doc told me to use throat drops when needed. Take Tylenol for the pain, it's completely safe. You can also take sudafed, dimetapp, Actifed, only one at a time though. For immediate releif, suck on popsicles and drink cold water. I would stay away from those teas while pregnant since they have ingredients in them that could cause problems in the pregnancy. I know peppermint is a no-no while pregnant.
Anyway, good luck!

You can gargle salt water, that helps some. Use lozenges and you can also use vicks chloraseptic. Salt water is the safest but if the cough drops arn't full of medicine they are fine. Don't use antibiotics without a doctors referral.

There are safe antibiotics you can take while pregnant - check with your doctor. (I've taken antibiotics while pregnant, for bronchitis.)
In the meantime, if your throat feels raw, you can gargle with warm salt water - it tastes icky, and definitely don't swallow it, but it certainly can help!
And then there are cough lozenges of course.
Good luck!

antibiotics are not the answer---most throats are sore due to sinus drainage or viral infections ---treatment is simple ---fluids ,rest the voice and tylenol only for pain or fever --fever lasting longer than 3-5 days see/call your doctor for advice

I was in your situation, and ALL I could do was drink lots of fluids and suck on cough drops and mints. It really stunk. The only way you'll get antibiotics is with your doc's prescription, so you'll know it's safe if he prescribes it. Good luck, and I know how you feel!
