Interestingly, I saw a special about the best bbq in the United States and for Texas, they featured Ruby's BBQ and Sonny Bryan's. I would definitely suggest both restaurants. Sonny Bryan's is more famous, though.

They are opening a County Line BBQ on Bass Pro Blvd off of I-30 close to Rockwall. (I don't know if it's open yet).

I have eaten many times at the ones in Austin and Houston. It was fantastic!!

Rudy's. Its actually in Denton but its not too far from Dallas. Where 35w and 35e meet up north.
They also have locations is Austin, New Braunfels and College Station. Their breakfast tacos are also very tasty!!! We usually have breakfast there when we go down to the river.

My personal favorite is Bone Daddy's. There is a location on 75 and Spring Valley and another in Mesquite off of 635 and Gross Rd. But if you're easily offended, don't go there...think Hooters gone BBQ.

SMOKEY JOHN'S......1820 W Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX
My Dad introduced me to this place and it will ruin any other visits to any other barbeque restaurants because it's SO good- you'll get spoiled off of their stuff. And the people that run it are awesome, too.
