Remember the early 90's? When wrestling was a fun, ridiculous spectacle you could take your family to and have a great time? Remember the colours, the dodgy clothes, and the silly gimmicks that took you away from reality for an hour or two?
Every wrestler now looks the same to me, some tanned up guy in tight pants yelling and abusing his opponent, who also happens to be a tanned up guy in tight pants. the most I've seen someone dress up in costume lately is The Undertaker, but he's been around since the early 90's to begin with.
Wrestling seems way too angry now, every wrestler pretty much looks the same, and it feels to me like there's something missing, like wrestling has lost it's way and forgotten what it was.
How do you feel?

Its turned into a soap opera. With strippers. We can barely let our kids watch it anymore.

Wrestling has lost its way in many forms. The biggest mistake in my opinion started when they seperated the two shows of Raw and Smackdown, this lead to many fans losing interest. They've also lost many superstars who knew how to energize a crowd, an example of how much the WWE is hurting is when a crowd can be so estatic over an simple interview with the Rock rather than the main event that evening. I also agree with the comment on colors, dodgy clothes and silly gimmiks. What happened to the matching Dudley clothing style, The Rock n Sock Connection, etc... it seems as if there are no real tag teams anymore and just individuals arguing and yelling. Wrestling has lost its flow.

I feel the same way, where are the characters? However consider this, that the moves do evolve into some killer variations. I mean, people get suplexed three times in a row before the hold is let go. Top rope moves have more flips than ever. And Kennedy's little specialty move is pretty impressive; I'm suprised that he doesn't break his own neck. But, yes, overall, it has lost its flavor and appeal. Still the best show around though, except your favorite musicians on stage.

I dont feel as if its lost its way. But I do think they had better wrestlers back then. Like steve austin. Id rather watch him then look at Cena. The Rock was cool. Guys like Edge and Orton were just starting out back then while they dominated. Its kinda sad when you look at them and see who carrys titles now. But time moves on. Maby it will pick up again and they will get some guys that can entertain again. Thats why I keep watching. May not be the same. But to me its still fun.

well its not wrestling. its the WWE. vcine only signs huge guys. i doesnt care about talent only there look. he thinks he can send them to OVW and theyll be good. most wrestlers today dont have passion but dont get me wrong there are many that still love the sport. the best i can say is that in about 7 years, as long as God gives us that time and puts off the prophacies of revalations, ill put the sport back on the map

No, not really. It lost its way about five or six years ago when WCW was bought out. But now that the WWE is starting to face a little competition and a lot of criticism, they seem to be trying a little harder.

The thing about wrestling is you can't take it serious; because it's stupid and that's how it's meant to be. But, yeah now I won't watch it. When I was a kid in the early nineties it was awesome.

I think it went down hill when Vince purchased WCW. Without competition WWE is no longer forced to produce a good product. They are basically a monopoly and have no pressure to better themselves..
