Good question. I used to not like to be the first to answer. But, now I do because I don't want my answer to be affected by reading others answers.

It seems sometimes when I read the other answers first, I change what my initial response would have been.

So, go for it, be the first one with the most original and best answer.

I'll be watching for you to be first!!! haha Gin

Maybe you worry too much about how others will view your answer, so you wait for a few responses and see what others have to say, to make sure you won't be singled out as the only one with this idea.

ummm...you have a social phobia called social anxiety disorder, an anxiety disorder characterized by overwhelming anxiety and excessive self-consciousness in everyday social situations. People with social phobia have a persistent, intense, and chronic fear of being watched and judged by others and of being embarrassed or humiliated by their own actions. Their fear may be so severe that it interferes with work, school, or being the first person to answer a yahoo question.
Have a great day.

it's because only fools learn from their own mistakes. wise people learn from the mistakes of others. hence, we tend to have the others go at it first and learn from their blunders. dont worry, you're not alone in this. you're normal.

Your not confident in your answers, so you need someone else to have the same answer as yours before you feel comfortable saying it.
