willing to let Rove and Miers answer questions from congress, no oath, no record, behind closed doors. My thinking is that if nothing wrong was done then what is the problem with being under oath and on the record?

People take this out of context. Clinton didn't fired 93 US attorneys (notice that they are not attorneys general..there is only one attorney general), Reno asked for their letters of resignation when they began a new term.

The problem here is that it seems that these US attorneys (Bush's) were fired because instead of investigating democrats, they were investigatins (and some of them even got convictions) of republican lawmakers and other republican associates.

That is the problem. I guess we'll see when everything comes out to the light.

He is out of line. The problem is not that they were fired, but that they were fired in the middle of potentially embarrassing corruption investigations. This is illegal, and therefore the questions must be answered on the record and under oath.

this is something that is blown way out of proportion. Bush and pick and choose who he wants to fill his positions, Several other presidents have done the same thing in the past. Clinton came in and fired around 70 or so, but nobody really said anything and everyone was shrugged off if they spoke out about it.. i swear, this is another way the media is slanted left!!

he has the right to hire or fire any and all of the us attorneys. and he does not owe anyone an explanation as to why he is doing it. bill clinton fired all 93 of them when he took office and put his own people in and not one person got upset about it. explain that one to me.

There are some things in this country that are above politics. A fair justice system that is blind to political belief is one of them. To undercut this is to undercut the foundations of democracy. To have the justice system come down on you for your political beliefs is something that undercuts democracy at its core.
Vote democrat and save democracy.

Clinton fired them all and nothing was said about him doing it. Why is it all of the sudden wrong to fire 8 of them?
