In order to give value to a coin, more information would be needed. You would need to know the type of coin, the year, who it was graded by, that type of info. You're best bet would be to contact someone who specializes in rare coins, and they could provide you with more information.

The answer to your question really depends on a lot of factors. Here's what the community needs to know to be of more help: the denomination of the coin, the date, and the mintmark (if it has one). Also knowing how much of a double die shift there is would be useful.

The plastic holder and the grade were more likely products of a coin grading service -- the U.S. Mint really doesn't get into that business. The fact that it is MS-68 is a good sign -- the top grade is 70. Additionally, the fact that it has likely been sealed and graded by a professional service ("slabbed") is good as well -- it reduces the squabbling about the grade of the coin that you might get into with a dealer if and when you try to sell the coin. If you post more information, I can try to give you a more detailed answer.

As was mentioned the other night you need to give up some more details. What type of coin is it and how do you know it is MS-68?
