In the bible Solomon was given a wish from God, who said Solomon could wish for anything. Solomon chose wisdom.

Apparently he needed it because he didn't wish for original sin to have never happened. But seriously, why didn't he wish for that?

Please don't say, "Because the bible is a pack of lies for a pack of dogs." That kind of thing gets very old.

I new that last little bit would probably encourage rather than discourage... oh well, to each their own.

That's what the internet is about anyways right?

You answered your own question... He wasn't smart enough to wish to abolish original sin.

~Possibly because the concept of original sin didn't exist during Solomon's time.

It was the early christians, especially Augustine of Hippo, who promoted the concept of original sin which contradicted Mosaic teaching that the children should not be punished for the sins of the fathers. Later, the Roman church added it as one of their precepts of Catholicism. The theory (or myth) was that all humans are depraved, therefore they require God to redeem them. It was good advertising for the church and christians bought into it for centuries.

Solomon was smarter.

I think Solomon's wish was great because if you have wisdom you could live fully and do so many things for yourself and for others. I guess he trusted God too. He wanted to know everything about life and he did it. Although he was not quite happy with his wisdom at the end of his life.

Original sin? How many people, worldwide, actually believe in such drivel? Only those who love to give up their "personal power" to patriarcho-fascist pedophiles, for the most part? :))

Get a clue, masochists :)) "The church" certainly has among its minions many well meaning and kind people. And the same is true of its "congregation". But, with a little research, you'll discover that its leadership is well qualified to run enron or halliburton, psychopath scum to the core!!

Because his sole concern was Judgment. The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.
