When the british attacked french Canada.This was because of french connivance with the colonists during thier war of independance
The french forces under general Montcalm were deafeted on The Plains of Abraham by the british under general Wolfe.

He was a general in the French army during the French and Indian war who was killed along with the British general Wolfe at the Battle of Quebec City, Quebec in what was known as the Plains Of Abraham in 1759.
