I am not talking about "can you help me on this problem", "what is the defination of this word", or "explain this concept to me."
I am talking about things like "can someone PLEASE put this paragraph in YOUR OWN WORDS?"
I am asking because I answered the question above with "Do your own homework!!!!"
My answer was deleted and received a silly violation notice.
I am sure when the teacher assigned the homework, she meant for the STUDENT to do the homework--not the Yahoo Answers Community.

Preeti, you should check out the question I am referring to. It looks like a pretty complete assignment to me.

I don't mind helping people but I don't think that it is right to do an assignment for someone. It sounds like the person is too lazy to even change the words around in the info they are plagiarizing.....that's pathetic! Sorry about your lost points....You have a right to your opinion and I agree with it.

I'm with you. I even got a violation for the same reason. The best revenge, I think, might be to provide wrong information so these lazy students will learn the peril of taking the easy way out.

I generally ignore them, but occasionally they try to disguise them in other categories. When I recognize them as homework questions, I suggest they read the textbook and find the answer for themselves and maybe learn something in the process.

If your 'friend' put a snake in your bed, and the snake bit you, will you get mad at the snake. You shouldn't. Snakes generally bite. Get mad at your 'friend' who put the snake in your bed.
Don't blame the person for asking for the homework to be done, blame the person who does it that is supposed to know better.

i guess that in short term it is a good thing for the person, but not too good long term when they still don't understand it and the test is coming up
so you can say that they get their just desserts in any case

yup the teacher asked the student to do hw...but yahoo answers is a place where one can come and can ask for help pertaining to any topic.....the best thin is the help is available 24hrs...and the person can compleet his hw da same day....or of its not hw help a person can ask for suggestions...i'm pretty sure no one here actually puts down all their hw for ppl to do...
