My best friend, who died in July. He was an intellectual, but not a snob, read a lot, especially Philosophy, but hung out in hole-in-the-wall bars, Expert on a variety of subjects, but worked in a bookstore. In addition to his "book" studies, he made & flew his own kites, made bikes from spare parts which were thrown away, and then rode them.....there's so much more. But, as you can see from this, he was an interesting character.

better known as Muhammad Ali.
I was absolutely blown away at his presence.
He does not speak so well these days but just the chance to be in the presence of a man that has accomplished so much in his life time was truly amazing and awe inspiring.
I did public speaking as a child and he was the first topic that I ever spoke publicly about.
He reminded me that my voice was one of the most powerful tools at my disposal. He made me believe that I could do anything I set my mind to and that it was okay to speak against injustice.
It was a dream come true.

Mr. downard.. a past teacher of mine..
he was very bright in all aubject areas and gave advice and he always seemed to be right. He was like a second father but more of a friend.
