"I wish my weed was emo so it would cut itself"
I don't do drugs and I don't think its cool do them. I also feel bad for people who cut themselves, and am not making fun of anyone, emo or not. I just heard this quote and it made me laugh. What do you think?

I think it's funny (and this may be from my definition of an emo) but to my mind if an emo kid is cutting themselves then it is purely for attention which is the wrong reason.
Its a quote which is taking the **** out of attention seeking behaviour - which is purely appropriate.

It may depend on the delivery or how you are reading it. If a comedian like Steven Wright said it (in a dead-pan way), then that's comedy. (Or if that's the kind of voice you hear in your head as you're reading it.) Maybe Dave Chappelle could pull it off too.
But if someone like Gilbert Gottfried (over the top) tried it, it wouldn't be credible -- what does he know about either weed or emo? Also, it's a subtle joke that only people with above-average intelligence would quickly get, so it can't be delivered with that much enthusiasm.
The one exception to this might be if Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High") said it...it would be funny, but that would be out of character...too intellectual a joke.

yeah sure it might be funny to weed smokers but not to the people who consider themselves emo.

i use to smoke a lot of dope and it was a big pain to break up your pot, i think thats why i quit jk jk.
