Next time, walk next door and apologize. Then rub the fat from the steak in her face. Then play some Thelonious Monk.

Sometimes people think that the music is not too loud but when your neighbors can hear it through the walls it is too loud. Often times the loud part is the bass and they can't make out the song, they just hear a loud banging sound and it is annoying. My daughters teenage neighbor comes home from school and cranks it loud from 3-9 everyday and she has a 2 year old that is trying to nap. She bangs on the wall also to get her to turn it down. Try going outside and listening to see if you can hear it yourself and if you can you know you should turn it down.

Sell the place and move into a single family dwelling. You probably are disturbing her. She might work a night shift and is trying to sleep. More likely she is just trying to hear her soap.
There is probably no insulation in the wall between you. Maybe you should talk to her (politely) and try to find out if there is one particular time when noise is more of a problem than others. Tell her that it distresses you that you might be a nuisance and that you don't want to be, but that some noise is normal. But you want to be as considerate as possible.

How loud is your music, regardless of the time?
If it is not that loud, go to your Home Owners Association - before they do.
BTW, is your townhome built by Ryan Builders? At least where I live they have a notoriously bad rep for thin walls. I rented one once and in the morning I could the handles on the nieghbor's dresser drawers flap down when they closed the drawer (I'm talking about the little gold handles on the drawer that you can lift up and let it drop). That's really thin.

Make enough bar-b-que for everybody and invite the crazy people over. I realize you may not want to be their friends but at least you've offered the rug you can later jerk out from under their feet. If you're like me, who plays bass, you can run them out of the complex by tactically placing speakers in appropriate places that will shatter glassware many rooms away. That low D string should do it.

Perhaps you might quietly sit down and talk to her. The real problem is not you or your neighbor, but cheap construction.
Or... you can declare war and give one or two good bangs on her wall at 3AM every morning.

Ask the person politely to stop, and if she doesn't stop call the police. You have every right to play music in your home as long as it as it isn't really loud.

Go over to her house and ask if you can speak with her. Tell her that you are sorry if the noise bothers you, but that you wish she would come over and discuss the problem with you next time it happens.
Be respectful. Some people just act nasty because they want someone to be nice to them. She'll come around.
