I'm going to visit my girlfriend for a week, in less than five days. The day I leave, unfortunately, I'm going to get my period. Since I can't use tampons (they just don't work for me, and cause me a lot of pain), I'm stuck with pads. She uses tampons. I'm freaking out, and I feel disgusting and unattractive because of this. I'd try menstrual cups, but it's too late to get one now.

Is there anything I can do to get my period to start early, or to at least end it quicker (mine always lasts around five days)? I know it's all hormones, but there's got to be something I can try. ):

No stupid answers, please.

I don't take the pill because...my girlfriend can't get me pregnant, for obvious reasons. [laughs]

Another thing, I tried tampons for three periods, and looked up everything to get them to work for me, to no avail. I don't like them at all.
I don't have anyone to help me, either, as everyone I know that closely uses pads.

There is a birth control pill called Rationale which suppresses periods for some reason, but it won't help you now. I can't think of anything you can do right now for it. You said you feel unattractive so I presume you're lesbian/bisexual. So pleasure gf for a week this time, and plan next time when it suits both menstrual schedules, or she can pleasure you next time.

No there is nothing you can do. Your best bet is to have someone help you learn how to insert a tampon at the right angle as they don't hurt if you put them in right, You are most likely not inserting them in the right direction. Also it is not to late to buy a menstrual cup but I am not sure if you would be able to learn to use it in that short of time. Have someone explain what angle to insert tampons and practice before your period.

Assuming you are in good health: If you are on oral contraceptives (the pill) you can simply start a new pack of pills instead of taking the placebo pills (last week of pills when you get your period). Other than that, I haven't heard of any effective way of changing your period. You might try slim tampons.
