my son is in kindergarten and i dont think he is doing well in his language arts. he barely remembers words that he is supposed to know and he thinks just because one word has the same letter as another word its the other word. i need help teaching him at home.

Try the ABeka program. This is the program I was taught with, and it prepared me for college very well. It uses phonics to teach pre-schoolers and kindergarteners how to read. It may be a little expensive, but look into it.

bogglesworld.com has some great resources . flash cards for the dolch list. but reading aloud to your child is the number one thing. research shows that children need to be read 1000 books before they are ready to be readers.

Geez your kids still young come on.

Give them a break. take time and be patient.

I had the same trouble . One child was gifted and one not as.

I pushed and pushed a little too hard and it made it dificult for the little one .
So be cool they will get it .

Forget the website. Just try reading to him and talking to him.
