You may have not left enough gap for the heating exhaust to escape, which means the machine will overheat and stop working.

The machine needs some space to move and jiggle and jump, that way it is not rubbing up against the wall. Also the dryer is supposed to be about 1 foot away from the wall.

when it is against the wall, is the vent tube in a bind? check it, if it is then the hot air from the dryer is not allowed to exit and the heat and moisture is building up. if it doesnt start at all when the dryer is against the wall, then the electrical contact in the dryer electric cord my either have a short or it may not be making adequate contact.

You need to leave enough space for the vent tube to not be crimped. And maybe when you shove it up against the wall, you are bumping the plug out of socket

two possiblitis. 1) loose connection with electrical wire. shoving around could worsen the connection. or, 2) you could be shoving so tight that it constricts the ehaust tube andd overheight the damn thingl could even cathch o n fire unless sensor cuts it off firsst. pull the whole thing out and examine all that or get a strong brave man to do it.
