I can't recall any particular romance movie right now, but there is a korean drama that has been subbed in many different languages, "Stairway to Heaven." The ending was so conflicting but it is really addicting!

For all time, it would have to be "A Matter of Life and Death", an English movie made in 1946--It's the story of an RAF squadron leader who, moments before his death in the crash of his plane, falls in love with the girl who's receiving his last radio messages.
Miraculously, he escapes death, and meets and begins a relationship with the girl.--And then, he begins seeing a Heavenly Messenger, who tells him he was supposed to die, and that his love is forbidden. Determined to remain alive and in love, he demands a heavenly trial. Pittted against the Laws of the Cosmos, he must find a way to prove that his love and his life are worth keeping.
This one's a marvelous fantasy, full of beauty, poetry, romance, wit and drama---one of the best ever made. It's release title in the US was "Stairway to Heaven" ( a coincidence, yes?) ---Catch it if you can!
