1. I have been diagnosed with different disabilities. I once self diagnosed with ADD and it turned out I was actually diagnosed with it in 4th grade. I was even diagnosed with a language processing disorder. I no longer do self diagnosing since it's the doctor's job and I could be wrong. 2. I think it depends on why the person is going for a diagnoses. I think mine was important because I was still in school and I needed help and my mom didn't fully understand me. She didn't know what I had and knew I had something but didn't know what it was. But the bad part is it keeps you from getting health insurance and joining the army. 3. I see everyone as normal and no different. My thoughts don't change when I hear they have something wrong with them. But I do believe some abuse things like spending less money for a bus pass when they can afford the whole thing or trying to cut in lines at Disneyland or Disney World just because they have that privilege for people with disabilities. 4. I don't understand why some feel the need to wave their label around. I think some put it in their signatures on the forum because they want to be understood better and not be mistaken as a troll or be seen as stupid and uneducated. I don't take the self diagnosed as seriously because I know for a fact they may not have what they claim to have and they think they do.

The first few symptoms look like the flu, but "some kind of saliva in his urine" looks like he may have some sort of kidney problem which you should not take lightly.
If he has a kidney infection and it goes into the blood the consequences can be fatal.
Just because you don't have health insurance doesn't mean you can't visit a doctor. A doctor may be your only option!

i think he should see a doctor. it could be the flu or bronchitus. whatever the problem sometimes you just have to break down and see a doctor anyway. i don't have insurance either, but sometimes if it means your health you have to go anyway. if you go to an emergency room they will help you set up a payment plan. even some doctor's offices may help, if you tell them that you don't have insurance. anyway, hope he gets better!!

It sounds like flu (a virus). Give him Tylenol, aspirin or something for the pain, headache and temperature. Give lots of fluids. In the evening Vick NyQuil Nighttime or its drugstore equivalent would be nice to give him.

Take him to the emergency room. He does not have saliva in his urine but it might be cloudy. His symptoms are serious. Hospitals will let you make payment plans with them or some are charity. He needs medical attention; his symptoms are fairly serious and it could be any number of things.

He can die; so take him now to an emergency room.

I'm going to go wtih a bladder infection.... you can spend the cash and maybe prove me wrong, or you can watch him slowly die. either way, let me know what happens. I think I'm right. I'm not a doctor, but I am the next best thing.... usually... I am more of a truama person so my illness knowledge isnt what it used to be....

but if for some strange reason he gets a stiff neck or cant touch his chin to his chest... make a same day appointment.... you'll be poor but happy....

I agree w/ sirus381 & neil l it sounds like the flu & the saliva in his urine could be mucus. Also like sirus381 if he can't roll his neck or touch his neck to his chest definately time for ER visit because that could be menangitious. Also go to a Emergency room & they can't turn you away they might even help you fill out forms to apply for medicaid or they will help with a payment plan. Every hospital has some kind of program for the people who have no insurance.

Four yrs ago I had a problem & had no insurance. I waited 6 days to go to the ER t get seen. They helped me fill out paperwork for medicaid & paid for the hospital visit. The ER Dr said that it was a good thing I came in because I had apendacitious & a kidney stone. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks after about 2 months medicaid paid the whole bill & my medicine. (I had to wait for medicaid to find me eligable then they helped me out.) They actually paid $20, 000 for the hospital not including the medicine I was sent home with. I hope this helps!! Good Luck!!

Any family members you can borrow money from? Don't worry about paying the bill you don't want your finacee to get worse do you. Get him to the ER!!

No insurance vs. life threat....

My initial advise is take him to the doctor period.

My secondary advice is that it could be anything....bacteria, fungal or viral, who knows...causing all this problems. Since you don't want to take him to the doctor then keep the fever down and keep him feed and very hidrated. If he gets worst, take him to the hospital or you will be responsible for his life.

Something else you can do is take him to the hospital and apply for a Gold Card or something similar. It allows for folks with low income to have their medical bill paid or at least part of it. Ask to speak to the admission station at the hospital to see how high the bill will be. Doctors do not normally concern themselves with bills/accounts, their primary mission is to stabilize the patient.

Hope this helps some, his signs and symptoms sound sort of like pneumonia/flu.

consult a professional...
Thanks.
