Oh it's safe alright, but worth it? Probably not. If you spraypaint it, the value of it (if you end up trading it in at some point) will be worthless, not to mention the fact that the iPod Nano (first generation) is easily scratched and very slippery. Chances are the paint would chip off within a week and you would have to constantly maintain it by respraying it. If your looking for hiding the scratches on your iPod Nano, there are plenty of methods on the internet, I've heard some as crazy as putting toothpaste on it. I can safely say that the spraypaint wouldn't damage it internally. But should the unlikely happen and it does break, I won't be held held responsible.

I wouldn't cause it would be really hard to keep paint from getting in it.

I'm pretty sure it would be, just make sure that you completely secure any paint from getting to the inside!!! other than that, you should be good to go!!!

No. Not at all.... ive tried this and it started getting into the buttons and it ruined everything. I dont recommend it.
