When doing an ultrasound on the mother , at what ages(weeks) could the doctor pick up the sound of the baby's heart beat?
Do u think 6 weeks is to early to tell ? Because the doctor couldnt find the baby's heartbeat. What does this mean?

stay cool....you are very early..if there is NO cramping spotting or pelvic pain you are more than likely ok....wait a few days and call your doctor to see if you can stop in to the office and see if they can get a heartbeat with the doppler. sometimes your not as far along as they think so it may take a few extra days.

Well i had my first sonogram at 6 weeks 3 days, and you could hear the heart beating real well, and also we got to see it actually beating. So no, 6 weeks is not to early to tell. Sometimes the doctor cannot find the heartbeat at 6 weeks, but others can. I wouldnt be worried about it just yet, because a friend of mine couldnt hear her baby's heartbeat until week 8..so dont be stressed about it! Best of luck, and hope i helped you!!

They deteceted a heartbeat at 6 weeks 1 day on ultrasound *abdominal* it depends...sometimes they cant get one until a little later, and sometimes they can..I would think this early its still normal, just wait a couple more weeks,i say 8 and u will prob be able to see it...otherwise at 10-11 weeks a fetal doppler can usually pick one up..good luck!

My very first ultrasound was at 6 weeks because the Doc thought it was an etopic preg. there was no heartbeat and there was no baby just a little black hole. It was too soon. I am now the proud mommy of a beautiful 4 week old baby girl. Just be patient you will hear it real soon.

I know this is very scary and you can't help but to worry! I went to be checked and wasn't sure how far along I was and they couldn't find anything. . a baby or a sac, but I was too early. At 7 weeks and 5 days it was all there and you could see and hear the heart. It varies from person to person and baby to baby. Try to not worry. 6 weeks is kinda early. Good luck with this baby! :)

it's too early. i heard my sons at 8 weeks and the doctor said that was even really early. dont worry. the babys brain starts developing first then the heart starts beating. if you are really nervous about it ask your doctor to do another one in a month. most doctors will. the book, what to expect when your expecting, was my bible while i was pregnant with all three of my kids. they really do put those mother worries to rest. and answered most of my questions. It tells you what you can expect to feel and how the baby is developing in each month. like when the hands and fingers start to form etc.. good luck and buy that book it is worth every penny.

I only had one ultrasound done and that was at 19 weeks. Six weeks might be too early to tell, if the doctor is not worried I would relax because stress does not help you!

with my first bubba i had an ultrasound at 7 weeks coz i had some bleeding, and the doc couldnt find heartbeat so he did an internal ultrasound (very uncomfortable) and the his heartbeat came up on the screen, so if you are worried you could ask for that

Its normal not to hear it until 8 weeks or even later...and your tech or dr should've warned you of this before they did the ultasound. It does not mean that there is no heartbeat, it just means that they can't hear it yet. My ob couldn't hear my son's heartbeat @ 8 wks but had told me in advance not to worry if that was the case. We heard it at the next visit and now he's a beautiful 17 mo old. I know its hard not to worry, so call your dr and ask him if he thinks everything's ok.

when i was pregnant i had y first check up when i was like six weeks also. My doctor did a transvaginal ultrasound since she said that the heartbeat might be too faint for her to hear using the stethoscope. you can also do that ultrasound.. i saw the heartbeat of my baby also.. its magical..
Congrats!
