Is there a difference between these two types of Governments? I'm mainly seeking for Saudi Arabia- I see it's a Monarch- but is that the same as totalitarian, or what is the specific difference? Thank you:)

Monarchy= A nation whose head of state is of royalty (King, Queen, Duke, etc...)

Totalitarian State= A nation whose government has ultimate control of the lives of their citizens. (Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia)

Monarchy is an organization of government, Totalitarianism is a style of government. It is possible for a country to be one or the other, both, or neither.
One may say that the U.S is totalitarian, but it is most definately not a monarchy. Another may say that Saudi Arabia is both a monarchy and totalitarian.
Another could say that Mexico is neither a monarchy nor totalitarian.
Make sense?

a monarchy is headed by 1 person and that persoan usually gained their title through heredity. most monarchies also base their policies off of an existing set of laws.

totalitarian governments are usually formed by coups or an elected leader seizing total control. he is usually not there by heredity and he usually has rather nebulous or ambiguous laws. basically ruling on a whim. these can also sometimes be ruled by commitee, usually of military leaders.
