I am wearing a black dress with a deep "V" neckline (not too much cleavage...but enough" to a black tie event. I will be wearing my hair up, but I'm not sure whether to wear long earrings and no necklace or smaller earrings and a necklace, then is a bracelet too much? HELP! I know I'm overdoing this, but it's a very special formal affair.

What accessories do you suggest?

I would say no necklace (cleavage is good enough) long earrings (with some sparkle) & definately some sparkle on your wrist, yes a braclet. A small clutch purse & some nice black heels & your all set. Maybe a bit pf sparkle in your hair clip/pins too....when I say sparkle, be suttle, not BLING BLING, something classy yet feminine.

Mix Metals
The trick is, if you want to mix metals, keep the style of the jewelry the same. A modern gold cuff won't look right paired back to dainty, antique platinum and diamond earrings. The "stacking trend" lends itself perfectly to the mixing of metals. Stack square or round rings or bangles in different shades of gold. You can even layer gold and silver necklaces for a fashion-forward look. Sometimes rules were made to be broken.

Wear the Right Necklace Lengths
Collar necklaces should lie snugly around the middle of the neck, and can be worn with V-neck, boat-neck and off-the-shoulder tops.
Princess length necklaces (17 to 19 inches) fall just below the throat. This is the most common and versatile length of necklace. It can be worn with most necklines except the high ones. Add a pendant and wear with a V-neck for a pretty look.

The simpler the better. I'd wear smaller earrings and a necklace. No bracelet and a cute black clutch. Diamonds look best.

Have fun!

For a very formal affair ALWAYS go for stylish simplicity, it never fails. Pearls and diamonds fit the bill best. Without seeing your dress it's hard to say exactly what would look right, but trust your gut.

My motto at events such as this is be remembered for looking just right... not too done up and not too plain.

Remember that your make-up is another accessory, emphasizing your best facial feature goes a long way too.

Have a great time!

small earings and a silver necklace(both need to match though). the lesser accessories you wear the better. if you wear too much you're overdoing it and they would think you're trying so hard. how about a small purse (silver or black, which one you like better)? i don't suggest you wear a bracelet, because i think it's just too much. this isn't an accessory party aite?

Big earrings, no necklace and a bracelet OR small earrings, necklace with no bracelet. Those are the two options. Decide with of the two options you like best, have fun and goodluck! :)

I would wear a long dangling earrings (rhinestones) no necklace and a matching rhinestone bracelet will be great also don't forget to buy you a silver clutch bag or evening bag and also wear black heels with it.

i would suggest first of all to go with everything silverish or diamondish. Not real long, but maybe 1-1.5 inch long dangling earrings, a mediumish size necklace that angles down in the direction of your dress. A bracelet is totally up to you, and it would look fine! almost EVERYTHING goes with a black dress, so have fuN!

maybe some dangly earrings with a little necklace, and a bracelet that matches your earrings.

Also, if you carry a little clutch purse with a clasp that matches your necklace, that will complete the look. :)

hope this helps

put on a pearl of diamond necklace. (make sure the pearls are long, not short. that'll look granny-ish)
also, slap on a huge fake diamond cocktail ring and get your nails done. a french manicure will look absolutely perfect.
id wear tiny diamond studs on your ears or nothing at all.
less is better than compleely overdoing it!
