I used to work for child welfare in my state.
I doubt they will do much considering the 15 year old took the first swing, so to speak. In my state what your husband did would not even warrent an invesitgation. If they really wanted to they could take him to court and make him go to parenting classes, anger management etc but that would require an order from a judge who might prefer to order a PINS petition on your daughter and get her in services instead. They cant make you do anything w/out a court order which means they have to sell their case to a judge.

Let CPS know exactly how your children behave around you and your husband. YOu should of called the police on your daughter when she kicked your husband. So that way, you have something in writing prooving what your daughter did. Its so hard these days to discipline your kids without the fear of having CPS on your back. I had a similar situation with my son, but CPS dismissed case cause I had Dr's, counselors, and school officials to vouch for what I was going through with my son. What ever your daughters do, document it, and call the police if you need to, dont let them get away with striking you and your husband. I have a 17 yr old daughter and my son will be 16 in a couple of months so i know the stress teens can cause now-a-days. Just be strong and firm with them. Good Luck

This soundds like a big mess for your family to have to go through. I wonder if your daughter had any physical marks on her when she was hit? Perhaps the whole family could benifit from counseling? I am sorry you and your family are going through so much, however physical violence on both father and daughter should not ever be tolerated. what could happen next time there is a battle? It could get a lot worse . A grown man should never hit a child.

Your not being investigated for disciplining your daughter.
Your husband is being investigated for slapping your daughter after being assaulted by her.
* he also assaulted her* ( Understand it was reaction and I think they will understand that to.)
Teachers must report anything like that.
At the most you both will have to take classes or seek some form of fam council. But nothing may happen. They drop things all the time. Unless you have other times!
Do let your kids know what happend both ways will not happen again. Let your daughter know you will call the police if something happens again and make sure hubby learns from this. I bet if it happens again he will just call the police on his own.
As being hard headed i have 3 boys...16, 19, 21. That are.
Keep your ground... set up new rules for the house and change them as they age. One will be 18 but make sure she undrstands it is your house your rules.

I guess it could depend on the state u live in. In this day and age no one can agree with discipline. Next time she wants to kick someone call the cops on her and see what she thinks about the state stepping into family affairs.

I work for a court house and use to work in the juvenile court. I would say (from reading reports similar to your case) they will probably investigate it, keep an eye on you for awhile and probably send you (husband) to parenting classes. I doubt they would take your child from you for that if it was just one incident.

WOW...ummm I'm sorry to hear that...I really don't know what to tell you...I guess the best you can do is next time they "act up" you could call the Cops on em for Insubordinate Child...At least I know you can in Ohio and Massachusetts.

Well I really think that the CPS should have been called because this is a grown man versus a child! Although she may be disobedient and kicked him, that DOES NOT justify him putting his hands on her. Nobody deserves to be hit. I think that you really need to put this into perspective and really think of the damage that is being done mentally and physically.

well they are teenagers...and they are going to be hard headed, and bitchy, and nasty, and rude. i think your husband deserves to have the CPS called on him... He is a grown man and could have really hurt her. i know that he cot kicked in the private area but come on, she is 15 and he is what 45. these are the trials and tribulations of being a parent. you should never slap a child across the face. like i said he deserves it.
