if you use the synching software that should have come with your phone, you won't need to buy any more software, however, if you want to add a large amount of music, you will need to get a micro sd card to store it all (the phone has some onboard memory, but not a lot).

full instructions on how to install and use the software will be in your user manual.

welcome to the world of blackberry!

Okay, bear with me, it might be kinda long: No, you don't unless you want to add large files. You use the software that came with the phone, along with the USB cable. After you hook it up to your computer open the Blackberry Desktop Manager. Double click the Media Manager. It will show your comp files on one side, Blackberry on the other. Double Click My Documents, then My Music (for music on your computer). Double click on Device Memory (under Blackberry side) and it should open and say pictures and ringtones. Now you can just drag files from one side to the other, either photos or music. You can use the link for instructions on how to make your own ringtone. Hope that wasn't too much info.
