Just for the record, parts of Canada are located further SOUTH than 1/3 of the United States. I live in Windsor, Ontario, and are at the same latitude a San Francisco, California. I am directly SOUTH of Detroit, Michigan,, therefore, I can say that the U.S. is further NORTH then I am! Although we DO have a Prime Minister, basing the "standard" on the position of "President" is not correct. Many countries in the World have Prime Ministers. Canada is also one of the G7 countries, and it's main resources are forestry, oil (of which we export massive amounts to the U.S.), and fishing. The above explanation of our Political system is very accurate, and MUCH simpler than the American Electoral College system. Not to mention, it is a true representation of the "voice of the people" (i.e. Al Gore vs. George W. Bush). The capital of Canada is Ottawa (located in Ontario), but our biggest city is Toronto, which is also the capital of the province of Ontario. Each province also has it's own Government, and of course, each city has it's own municipal government. We vote for the party, not for the leader, so every party must hold a "leadership convention", whenever a party leader resigns (usually after an election loss). Therefore, the party must vote in a leader they think will represent the party the best, while being popular enough to win the next "general" election. The leader is voted in by members of the party, of which anybody can be a member. I could go on and on! :)

Canada has a free society like the U.S. and they have a Parlimentary type government with a Prime Minister instead of a President.

Absolutely Frigid, that's what!
I live in Los Angeles and I know quite a few Canadians.
Canadians are like geese, which means that they fly to Florida and Palm Springs California in the winter time.
Canada is a proud nation with fewer residents than California has.
If they'd get rid of Quebec, most of their problems would be solved. JUST KIDDING
I attended a State Dinner at the White House for Prime Minister Trudeau in 1977 and he was a charming man.
Canada must miss him being at the helm.

Canada is a federal constitutional monarchy with parliamentary democracy. Comprising ten provinces and three territories, Canada is a bilingual and multicultural country, with both English and French as official languages at the federal level. A technologically advanced and industrialized nation, Canada maintains a diversified economy that is heavily reliant upon its abundant natural resources and upon trade — particularly with the United States, with which Canada has had a long and complex relationship

parlimentary system that was formerly an english commonwealth, and has officially become sovereign...but still shows allegiance to the queen. this makes little sense but its true. it is also somewhat confederate as quebec is officially a seperate entity from canada but still participates in the canadian government and uses canadian currency. this is also weird...but true. but its canada, what did you expect?
the quebec thing is very recent and mostly just a technicality. but i dont want anyone saying its false becuase i heard it directly from a quebecer that i know personaly.

This is the best form of Government, in my opinion.
