cool...well lets see...for a beginner..if you want to play something easy and cool...play Dracula by Iced Earth, its a metal band but this song has an awsome acoustic intro...some Iron Maiden is really good..and perfect for a beginner to get the basics..but your really limited on music to learn cause you play acoustic....of course the classic Nothing Else Matter by Metallica, and the Stair Way to Heaven is always a good song to play...but i suggest to play some things that are not heard often...like this song by artist Ricardo Arjona, the song is Desnuda which is a really beautiful song and well of course its in spanish but trust me, you can find the song on youtube and listen to the music video to get the rythm of it...or Dust in the Wind by Kansas and of course some Pink Floyd is always a good choice..just get out there..listen to what you like..and learn it ...thats what musicians do...play from the heart...and well have fun..

When a guitar is specifically described as a "beginner guitar," it's probably a reference to the price, since most people don't want to spend a fortune on an instrument when they're not sure they'll be committed to playing. But any guitar with a thin neck and low action (the distance between the strings and the fretboard) would be great for a beginner. The thinner the neck and the lower the action, the easier it is to move smoothly between chords and notes. I usually recommend Ibanez (acoustic or electric) or Jasmine by Takamine (acoustic) guitars for beginners, since they're very comfortable to play, sound great, and are often nicer than guitars costing twice as much. But anyone thinking about playing should visit a guitar store and test drive a bunch of different models, since each will have its own feel. One person's dream guitar is another's nightmare, so whichever guitar feels natural in your hands is the one to choose.

I don't know what kinda music u like Dude. But from my experience I would say that if you know how to do a G, C and a D you can play almost anything. Just sit and figure it out, that's how I learned everything I do. My personal fav lyricist is John Prine. A Taylor? SWEET! Great choice, take care of her. The Baby Taylors are great for getting kids started. I'm getting my grandson one. I figger if he's loses interest I'l l have a second!! HA!!! And just maybe I'll have a musician grandson :-)
Peace,
Laurie

One of the first songs that I taught myself was 'Stairway to Heaven' it's relatively easy, and something that a lot of people teach themselves early on.
