***I am ONLY asking about this particular sling or similar ring slings, I appreciate your input but I only need to know about the sling I actually own!***

For those of you who use/have used the original Maya Wrap ring sling, did you like it?

How long did you use it?

Were you actually able to nurse hands free?

How did baby like it?

Anything else I should know/ tips?

I wanted one so bad with my first daughter and never got one, got a front carrier and she hated it! It never got used, I gave it away. This time I bought it in advance, expecting #2 in 2 weeks and hoping it may help make life a little easier with a newborn and a toddler. Thanks for any info!

Did you like it? - I love my sling!
How long did you use it - I still do, and my son is almost 10 months
Nurse Hands Free - Not all of the time. When he was smaller, I was able to snuggle him into the cradle hold, and nurse him, but the bigger he became, the harder is was. Now, of course, I can not nurse him in the sling.
How did the baby like it? - He loves it! I now carry him on my hip. That is his favorite place to be, especially because he can still touch things, even though he is still in the sling and close to me.
Anything else I should know/tips - you should go to a website called thebabywearers.com They have a lot of great tips and the moms and dads that post on the forums all wear their babies!

I have two Maya Wraps.

I LOVE them. I owned about 8 different other baby carriers before the Maya Wrap, and hated every one of them.

I still use it with my 14 month old son (26 pounds), and if I really wanted to and my older daughter would tolerate it, I could wear my son on one shoulder and daughter (at 33 months old and 36 pounds) on the other. They'd be heavy, but I could do it! I don't routinely wear my daughter, though. I don't wear my son very often anymore, either, because he always wants to be down and moving around.

I didn't get the Maya Wrap until my second child was born. My daughter thought it was kind of fun (when she was around 2) but didn't use it enough to have a strong opinion of it. My son loved it when he was younger. I used to wear him to the pool when he was 5-7 months old and he didn't really want to go in the water. I could stand in the kiddie pool with my 2 year old and have both hands free for her (thank God, because she is a fish with NO fear of the water!). It really was a great solution for us.

I don't know much about wearing a newborn in one, though, because I didn't get mine until my second child was about 4 months old. He loves sitting on my right hip and that's pretty much the only way I've used it, although I know lots of people who can nurse in one.

If you want some more hands-on help with them, you should go to a local NINO (Nine In, Nine Out) meeting. They hold them once every month or so in most areas and are free, and they show you a whole array of carriers and how to use them. You can bring your own carrier and someone can help show you how to use it with your baby. You might want to look into it ahead of time and then plan to go soon after your baby is born so that you'll be able to practice with help. I put a link at the bottom for their website.

Good luck!

i admire the baby Bjorn lively... it has help that is going all the way down your back and the baby is in a position to stand in or out. My infant loves it, and might take a seat dealing with out in it for a pair of hours! the only ingredient i do unlike concerning to the baby Bjorn lively is the value. It retails for incredibly much $200 (the place I stay), so that is extra effective to attempt and discover one 2nd hand in case you could. I easily have tried on the baby Bjorn unique, and that is not almost as soft. I even have the baby Hawk. I enjoyed that extra while my infant replaced into smaller. I additionally like it because of the fact that is great wonderful. It probable screams neo-hippy earth goddess although... :)
