I'll go once a month or every two months. I love books, so the best find ever was a complete first edition set of a crime encyclopedia. Weird articles about criminals, jails, and even the history of the electric chair.

Not as often as I'd like. I paid a $10,000 down payment on my house with the profits from flea market/yard sale/thrift store finds. A couple of great buys--a 1st edition Great Gatsby that I sold for $400+ (found in the bottom of a whole box of books), some vinyl records by a group called The Free Design that sold for almost $200 (found in the bottom of a stack of vinyl) and an old Waterman fountain pen for my collection that I paid $2 and has a book value of several hundreds (I didn't know that at the time else I would have paid more)

Many former garage sale people now sell on ebay. The only garage sales here have overpriced junk or if not, the dealers get the good stuff. On the other hand, when I lived in Sydney, I picked up a modern perfectly working colour tv set from a council collection dump outside a home. Nice score :) I like the local thrift shop here. They have good quality tools at bargain prices.

every time i can i have found stuff that are Vintage YSL, Coach, Louie Vuitton, Prada, Channel etc. and when i found out how much its worth.. i was amazed i got stuff that cost over $20,000 just for 1 dollar.. the saying someones junk can be someone else's treasure is right... and i got some good jewelry once from this guy from broaches and rings.. i got this real good ring that the guy who sold it to me for 5 bucks thought it was a fake diamond and when i took it to a jeweler it was a real diamond.. i think I'm pretty lucky with my finds..you don't have to be poor to go to flea markets, garage sells or thrift stores!! I'm not broke or middle class but i still go for the fun of it..

Not very often but I found my favourite shirt of all time at a Thrift store all you can fit into a brown bag for $1 sale. I figure it must have cost me about 5 cents. Excellent find.

Right after Katrina I did to check out some things at the suggestion of a neighbor.

And I found GOLD.

Book, and books and more book for anywhere fron $.50 to $3.00.

Since then, I stop by occasionaly to check out the books. You can find some really good one for little or no money.

My greatest find is a sterling bracelet with depression era glass stones. I got it for $40 (a big chunk of change at the time)
I recently had it appraised and was told it's worth $500!
