Actually it seems that they have theocrats, neocons, and mainstream Republicans. Unfortunately the latter has lost control to the first two. Where is the Grand Old Party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower? Gone to the radicals. When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?

I believe you forgot about the majority of us: good ol' "paleo-cons" who have more in common with William F. Buckley, Jr. and the philosophical legacy of President Ronald Reagan than with Sen. McCain or (God forbid) Mayor Giuliani.

There's not currently a Presidential candidate with whom I identify. The closest thing to a candidate I can find to get behind, it would be Sen. Brownback. If I could draft anyone to run, it would be former HHS Secretary and Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson.

Both of our two big national political parties have moderates and nutcases. I wonder why you are only asking about the republicans? I hope it is not because you are on the fringe yourself.

They are not in two.

They are in splinters or scrapnel, trying to come up with a different subgroup name to distance themselves from the approaching train wreck that is those other two names.
