i got on the school softball team but have no clue how to play can someone please explain the rules and things like that

There are lots of instructional videos out there, and tons of local clinics you can participate in. If you don't want to do that, ask your coach or another teammate for some extra help when it comes to things you don't know. There's rule books available for purchase, but those can get complicated. You can even watch college softball games on TV, like ESPN2. Don't be afraid to ask questions; we all have to learn at some point =]
