I will probably get the Crappiest Answer for this, but I'm kinda old school. Any REAL Gibson Les Paul is gonna be a spankin *** guitar. What investment? U r gonna love & keep it. If u r a girl guitarist, this sounds stupid I know but, get a pretty one and give her a name. I know, I 'm a dork. Mine is Lizzy and we've been together for about 25 years.
Enjoy yours, I sure do mine

Buyer beware, Watch out for spinoffs. I purchased a custom 7 string Fender Bass guitar, paid 740.00 for it and later found out I was sold a spinoff made in mexico. It only had a value of about a third of what I paid for it. Gibson Les Paul
is an awsome guitar, a true Les Paul is always a custom peice and will always hold it's Value. Go to The Gibson Website and look there. It will cost you a little, but the Bridges
and String spacing and the overall sound quality is worth it
if you are serious about playing; as a beginner or a novice;
they would not be able to tell that much differance. Also, look
at any rock n roll magazines and look for their adds and for
artists who play it, After you are educated, you will know
what exactly it is you are looking for.

$900 up. A production guitar won't be an investment as it will lose value, unless some star signs it or something.. It might be worth a lot 100 years from now when you are dead. Personally, I think the guitar itself is overrated. It's heavy on your shoulder and access to the upper frets suck if you have smaller fingers. I think as far as Gibson is concerned, the SG is much cooler and a hell of a lot easier to shoulder on a long gig.

Digital has 6 outputs - one for each string. You can process the %$^# out of it to get a cleaner sound.. Why you would want that while playing Zeppelin is beyond me. :)

Most of the others are made of same wood, hardware, electronics in the same factory. Difference is mostly cosmetic (gold plated vs. chrome, fancy inlays, etc.). A new Studio is around $1200.00. A new Custom is over $2000.00. There are some cheaper models...

$1,500 probably. But you can get the epiphone versions a lot cheaper,and they're pretty much the same thing!!!
I'd recommend Fender Telecasters over Les pauls to anyone though.
Just a thought!!!
