I took the cover off my carseat to wash and can not figure out how to put it back on. I don't have the book

Carseat as in seat of your car or carseat as in child safety seat? Either way you should be able to contact the manufacturer for assistance or a new owner's manual. Do not use any lubricants or abrasive cleaners before checking the manual - doing so could compromise the safety of the seat.

Try putting it on upside down from the way you're doing it, with the other part over the back rest, that might work.

if the cusion is foam, spray some silicon lubracant on cusion then roll the fabaric back on like a condom, no joke
